What is NHS?
National Honor Society is an organization for sophomores, juniors, and seniors. There are four areas in which students need to demonstrate competence: Scholarship, Leadership, Character and Service. In order to be eligible, students must be a senior, junior, or a second-semester sophomore, and they must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. Students need to submit certificates for scholarship and leadership. Character evaluations are then filled out by the staff for prospective members.
What are the expectations of NHS members?
Once a student has been accepted into the organization, he/she will continue to serve the community and school and to lead in various ways. NHS completes a number of service projects throughout the year, including a staff vs. student volleyball game to raise money for charity, activities with the elementary school and the nursing home, and a highway clean-up project. Students are also expected to maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above in order to retain membership.

Applications for 2020-21 sophomores, juniors, and seniors are due January 21, 2021 at 3:15 PM. Please review the NHS application materials on the NHS wall at the high school. The documents are also available electronically on the "NHS Resources" page of this website.
