Welcome to 6th Grade Math
We are using a great math program in 6th grade called Connected Mathematics 2. It's an excellent math program that really challenges the students with various types of problems. This program really stresses estimation and problem solving that challenges every students. Each student has a three-ring binder that includes a soft cover math book and a section of math notes. The math notes include examples and information about the math concepts that we are currently practicing. We will be working with large whole numbers, rational numbers, major concepts of fractions, decimals and percents, concepts of geometry and algebra basics. In 6th grade math, students will also be working with an on-line program called Study Island. This is an excellent website that provides additional drill and practice for the MN State math standards. |
